Instructions
- Chop potatoes into small cubes
- Add them in water and salt and leave them for sometime (this will get the starch out of them)
- Add oil (this needs more oil than usual)
- Add mustard seeds
- Add cumin seeds
- Add asafetida
- Add 2-3 dry chillies
- Add curry leaves
- Add 7-8 fenugreek seeds (menthulu)
- Add 1 spoon toor dal or chana dal (kandi pappu or pachhi senaga pappu)
- Add 1 spoon urad dal (minappappu)
- Add 1 spoon garlic paste or crushed 5 garlic cloves
- Add some turmeric
- Add potatoes taken out from water
- Mix everything well and add some salt
- After sometime, add chili powder as required
- Add half spoon coriander powder or more according to the quantity of potatoes
- Add half spoon cumin powder or more according to the quantity of potatoes
- Keep mixing them and it takes some time to cook potatoes, so cut them into very small cubes
- Add coriander leaves and once if they are cooked, check for salt
